Silly, stoic, resilient, independent, curious, cautious, soulful, and misunderstood, cats are much more than their aloof reputation in a world that seems to love or hate them. As a lover of all animals, but with a particular connection to the feline spirit, I have always felt compelled to photograph cats. As a child I had a special bond with our family cat, Shadow, created illustrated books about cats, and referenced them as my favorite animal in my high school time capsule. Perhaps it’s my leo and tiger astrological signs? Who knows. I always brake for cats and try form a connection, much to the dismay of those who may be with me. This is a lifelong project that began long before I realized it was a project. I use whatever camera I have since cats wait for no one.
